The next generation of technology is nothing else but smart watches. In spite of the fact it is just your phone on your wrists, but it makes the phone more convenient, and handy. The industry also flooded the market with their versions of smart watches, one by one. It surely seemed a splendid breakthrough at first but to an extent it didn’t excel to the heights people expected. Some reasons of it were the small touch screen area, which limited the operation. Apart from that, the watches were designed to perform too many functions, which became another reason for its low performance. Another reason was that some people, thought traditional watches to be still more classy and extravagant. Companies were in constant struggle to maximize the reach and sales of these watches. At this point one company emerged to be a leading contender in this field. This company is an Indian start up Witworks which came up with a more innovative line of smart watches called, Blink.
Blink is based on Marvin, an Android based OS and is presented by a group of IIT-Kharagpur graduates, Somnath Meher, Ankit DP and Chandrashekhar Iyer. The company makes its parts in Shenzhen, China on a large scale, just as any other company does. What makes this product different from every other smart watches like Apple Watch and Android Wear, Samsung gear S2 and Sony’s Smartwatch 3, is that it doesn’t link itself to the phone.
Marvin, its Android based OS, makes it different from its competitors as it is capable of integrating various third-party applications, like payments, commuting, navigation and local discovery, apart from the regular services like Notifications, Timeline (Synced calendar, reminders, to do’s), fitness tracking and music.
As far as the hardware is concerned, Blink carries a full round 1.39”, 400×400 AMOLED display with 16.5Million colours and 1.2GHz processor, which proves to be twice as effective as compared to the existing contenders. Apart from that it is backed up with a 300mAh battery, which is capable of running it for a whole 48 hours. Blink also packs a 1GB RAM and an 8GB internal storage and an exceptional performance with music. It has Bluetooth 4.0 with BLE and is built with a stainless steel, anti-corrosive 316L, along with a 1.5mm thick Gorilla Glass 3.
Here are some features which makes Blink a strong competitor in the line of Smart Watches:
1. You can store upto 1000 songs to hear by the watch’s in built speaker. It can play tracks by interfacing with Bluetooth speaker/Headset.
2. Syncs your timetable, to-do’s, updates and alarms on a single screen
3. A state-of-the art 9 axis motion sensor, which allows the user to track fitness activity, to the minutest details.
4. You can easily read and reply to all notifications.
5. Its mode of operation is perfectly secure as the device generate an OTP, with a validity of 60sec, so that every transaction you make is perfectly safe.
What gives Blink the cutting edge over other Smart Watches, is that it has been designed and made by people who have been in the business of various Indian watch brands for years. These people know exactly what people want in watches, and how that can be provided to them, keeping the smart features intact.
With a starting price of 12,900 Rupees, people can now pre-book their Blink watches at a minimal rate of 2,500 Rupees. The product will be scheduled for delivery post-Diwali in Nov’16 .
