Facebook Messenger, an instant messaging platform, is a great way of keeping up with what your friends and family are up to. Facebook Messenger is still one of the most popular messaging apps in the world regardless of the fact that it comes with a drawback that it might not be telling us about every message that we need to see.
Whenever a new message is received we’ll receive some type of notification (depending on the settings). However, there are certain circumstances like when someone you are not friends with tries to send you a message, Facebook does not prompt any notification. It’s possible you have messages that you never realized you had received and, you’re unlikely to stumble upon them.
Launch the Facebook Messenger app on your phone and find the Settings icon in the bottom right corner.
Tap on the People Option.
Next, tap on Message Requests option.
Here, you will find any unread Message Requests. Below those will be a blue link labelled “See filtered requests.” Tap on this and you will be taken to the filtered request screen. If you have any such request they will all be listed here.
To remove these filtered messages you can simply tap Edit and then hit Delete in the bottom-right.
Most, if not all, will be junk, but there is a chance that a message or two you find here hidden are important messages. Be sure to check them all from time to time, just to make sure you aren’t missing anything too important.!
Facebook’s reason for keeping these messages hidden away is to avoid filling our Inbox’s with junk. At least now, you know where to go to check for yourself.
