The Note 9 excelled in the camera department over the iPhone Xs Max. However, the iPhone Xs Max is giving a better camera performance over the Note 9 thanks to the new sensor capable of gathering more light along with the Depth control feature. You can capture selfies with Bokeh effect from both the phones.

With the Note 9 you can record videos in slow motion at a much higher frame rate compared to the Xs Max.

The iPhone Xs Max runs on the iOS 12 and is powered by the new A12 Bionic chipset which improves performance and efficiency.
