According to India Today report, Mukesh Ambani led Reliance Jio is planning to launch high speed broadband service called JioFiber. The launch is said to have been delayed because Jio 4G’s launch was extended up to March end. JioFiber could be launched in June in a few select cities and then gradually roll out to the rest.
Let’s look at the JioFiber Preview Offer which is similar to Jio 4G SIM’s offer. JioFiber will be free for 90 days and users can avail 100GB per month at 100mbps. If the limit is exceeded, then speed will be downgraded to 1mbps however users can still continue using unlimited data. Apart from the high speed internet, users will also get 5GB cloud storage. Users will have to pay a onetime installation fee of Rs.4500 and it can be refunded if the user wishes to discontinue during the complimentary offer period.
JioFiber pricing has not yet been revealed, however it is speculated to start from Rs.500 up to Rs.5500. As of now only the Reliance Jio employees are having a trial run of this service. The trial service is being tested in Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Chennai, Ahmadabad, Vadodara, Surat and Jamnagar.
