Nokia ruled the mobile phone market several years ago but then came along Android and Apple. Both Android and Apple products swooped the marketplace and Nokia was nowhere to be seen. Nokia returned with its Lumia series featuring Windows OS and finally, it has ventured into the Android market.
The Mobile World Congress(MWC) is a big annual event where the leading mobile brands(except Apple) unveil their new products. The MWC is currently happening in Barcelona, Spain. Nokia has announced 5 phones this year at the MWC. Nokia has announced Nokia 1, Nokia 6(2018), Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 8 Sirocco, and Nokia 8110 4G feature phone.
The Nokia 1 will be an entry-level budget smartphone in the Rs 5000 –Rs 6000 range. Nokia 1 will feature Android Oreo (Go edition) for its device running 1 GB RAM. Nokia will have to compete against the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 5A which runs on Android 7.0 Nougat. We can expect Nokia 1 to launch in April 2018.
Nokia 6(2018) will be slightly expensive as it is available in China for approximately Rs 22196. Nokia 6(2018) will be an improvement over the old Nokia 6 and it will feature wireless charging, in addition to running on Android Oreo. Nokia 6(2018) shall be launched in April 2018.
Nokia 7 Plus is another expensive smartphone slated to launch in April 2018 for approximately Rs 31,743. Nokia 7 Plus will sport a Pro Camera, Snapdragon 660, 4 GB RAM, a bigger screen and a better battery.
Nokia 8 Sirocco is a flagship phone which will be available for more than Rs 59,000. The Nokia 8 Sirocco will feature a stainless steel exterior, Snapdragon 835, Gorilla Glass 5 and amazing camera with Carl-Zeiss optics.
Nokia 8110 4G is a feature phone and an upgraded version of the old Nokia 8110. The Nokia 8110 4G will be priced at approximately Rs 6000 and will be available in May. It is interesting to know that the Nokia 8110 4G will also be available in Yellow color. The Yellow variant looks far more refreshing than the Black variant.
