SGNL – Take Phone Calls with Just a Fingertip

Bluetooth headsets made everyone look so cool by enabling hands free talking. Now sgnl takes you a step ahead and lets you make calls using just your fingertip. Innomdle Lab was a part of Samsung’s C-LAB and now it wants to brings it products to the market with help from Kickstarter. This being their first project, sgnl smartwatch band is raising funds on Kickstarter.

All you have to do is wear the wristband and touch your fingertip to your ear to make a call. It doesn’t have speakers, instead, audio is transmitted through your hand from your wrist up to your ear. The wristband has a built in microphone. When you receive a phone call, it is transferred to the strap via Bluetooth and the bone conduction actuator then transmits the audio signal through your finger.  You feel the vibrations on your wrist as audio is transmitted and your finger can also act as noise cancellation unit.

The lug adaptor makes it compatible with both traditional watches as well as smart watches. It can also be worn as standalone wristband. The design has been modified to give it a more stylish look. It can be charged via micro USB and offers a talk time of 4 hours, standby of 7 days. It is available in Black, White and Blue colors for $139.

With this smart band you no longer have to worry about carrying headsets or earphones. No need to pull out your phone from the pocket, just place your finger to your ear and make a call. Innomdle Lab fundraising campaign had a goal of $50,000 but it is $1,469,202 at the time of writing this post.
