Samsung’s cool and innovative edge display technology is still doing the rounds and the anticipations have begun for the Korean giant’s long-rumoured foldable smartphone could be coming out in 2017.
According to some reports, Samsung is set to launch 5 smartphones next year – the Galaxy S8, the S8 edge, the Galaxy Note 7, the Galaxy Note 7 edge, and the most awaited, the Galaxy X with a 4k foldable screen. The high resolution will be required when the device is bent.
Galaxy X is just the working name of the device, code-named Project Valley by Samsung.
A potential design for the foldable smartphone was demonstrated in a 2014 and since then Samsung has been working on it.
It’s not clear what the phone will look like or how the folding action will work, but it’s no secret that Samsung and its competitors have been working on flexible screen technology for years., and now reports suggest it is ready to rock in 2017.
Bringing out a foldable phone would shake things up and put Samsung as the leader of the technology.
We are awaiting more leaks as Samsung isn’t giving any backing to all the rumours relating to its upcoming releases.
